There's a Facebook group I've been enjoying recently, called You Know You're From York When ... and number one on the list is "you meet up at the fountain." Above, is The Fountain. No-one meeting there on the day I took this pic, Monday at around 10am. It was way too chilly!

Hi Yusringadi, the fountain does look solid, but it isn't! It doesn't get quite cold enough to freeze fountains in York!
Hilda, there's at least one other fountain I can think of, in front of the art gallery, but this is the most central and well known one!
The fountain is sometimes full of foam. I've never undesrtood why. Is it a way of cleaning it? Snowing heavily in SB now. Hope it won't settle on the ground! Ciao. Antonella
I want a fountain! Can we have one in the Ar*e somewhere? Can't make it any worse than it is already!
