Terry Avenue in Autumn

I cycle down Terry Avenue when I go into town. Rowntree Park is on the left, behind the railings. The River Ouse in on the right, behind the hedge. When I was living away, this ride is one of the things I used to think back to and miss loads. When I lived here before though, in the early 90s, I lived in the village of Heslington and cycled in to town down the other side of the river. Which is just as nice as this one.

Beautiful!

Sigh, this is something we definitely do not have in Manila.

Very atmospheric Ruby, it is part of a walk I sometimes do, downstream from Blue Bridge on the other side of the river down to the Millenium Bridge and then back towards town on the Rowntree Park side of the river.

Not as nice as yours, but this is a photo I took the other day in the grounds of Blickling Hall in Norfolk.

I took several like that, so I think we must both like the idea of a long road that could lead to just about anything...

Hi Ruby, I love this walk along the river. I did not know it is called Terry Avenue, I suppose after the old Terry chocs factory? Beautiful foliage. Take care. Ciao. Antonella

Really a nice looking place to walk and it also looks like some of your natives are using the same walk and commented above about it. That is nice. You never know who your walker might be or who you are?

The whole of York looks lovely at the moment, but especially along the river. I bet the Abbey Gardens in BSE looked pretty amazing also though

Lovely Autumn photo, wonderful colours. Ironic though; Terry Avenue and Rowntree Park, both named after York's most important chocolate manufacturers, sadly now no more.

Wow--beautiful photo! How long did you have to wait for the road to clear? Definitely worth it, and with scenery like that, I'm sure you didn't mind :)
