Guess the weight anyone?

This squash is in the window of the greengrocer's, Millie's, right next door to the Pig and Pastry. For a £1 you can have a guess at the weight, with the chance of winning £50 to spend in the shop. All proceeds are going to the children's ward at York District Hospital. I haven't had a go because I'm useless at weights and I really have no idea. If anyone else does, give me a hand and post your guess below! I might enter yet. A bean or two from Millie's negotiable if I win with your guess ;-)

Through the window you can see the terraces on Bishopthorpe Road. The road leads, unsurprisingly, to the village of Bishopthorpe, where the current Archbishop of York resides.

No idea. Since the prize is £50 worth of shopping goods, maybe it's also exactly 50lbs?

52 lbs - simply cos thats my age and I am feeling every day of it right now - but dont go with my answer Ruby, I never win anything!

Looking at the pics has made me want to visit York very soon - maybe I will spot you in Bury this weekend - who knows?
PS: You still have my mobile number...and I will be in Ember Inns this evening....

Thanks for all the guesses everyone. I think I'd better take an average!

Antonella, sorry to hear you've been suffering with migraine :-( Hope you feel better.

GRUMPS! Would be great if you came up to visit. But in the meantime, I hope to be seeing you in Bury St Edmunds. I leave tomorrow late afternoon. Have a good time at the MH tonight - that's Cashier No 5's hang out if I'm not mistaken ...

My guess is 423 lbs or 189 kilos

It looks like it would take two to lift it. I'm going to guess 100 lbs. If you need that in stone Ruby you'll have to do the math.

I have no idea about the weight of this big squash, but I once came closest to guessing the number of matches in a big jar and won a chair.

I reckon it's about 35kg based on the weight of a pumpkin my daughter grew last year.
Last Christmas I guessed the exact number of jelly babies in a jar at the school bazaar but was disappointed to find that I didn't win the jar of sweets, I got a penny chew and all the kids running the stall ate all the jelly babies!! Hey ho ; )
BTW There were 222 jelly babies!

83 pounds. Just a guess but had one similar to this once and that's what it weighed.
