House Hunting 2009

This year, I'm going to be house hunting.

Having risen to ridiculously high peaks, the house prices in the UK are now dropping again, and will need to drop some more before I can afford to buy. So I'm watching, and waiting, and in the meantime, am very often tempted by houseboats and caravans ...!

I pass this particular boat on my way in to town. It was for sale a little while ago, but presumably has a new owner now. No, not me, but I was sorely tempted!

P.S. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Welcome back, Ruby!

I just read through your post yesterday and I sympathize with you. My wish for you in this new year then: clarity of vision so you can choose which direction to go, strength and confidence to start and continue on your journey, and friends and loved ones to travel with you.

Happy New Year! (HUGS)

une nouvelle année s'ouvre sur plein d'espoir et de bonheur (je suis toujours optimiste) alors que tes vœux soient réalisés.
a New Year opens with full of hope and happiness (I am always optimist) while your wishes are accomplished.

Think you have to be a particular sort of person to live on a narrowboat. Someone with few possessions for one thing. I hope you do find yourself a good home soon and can sort yourself out.

Glad you're back, Ruby. Missed you lots. I'm sure your blogging will help you a bit to distract you from the chores of your life! And help us to get distracted from ours!!! I like boats and I would like to try to live on one, but I think it'd be pretty hard. Maybe it could be a nice summer house...Have you ever been on Pocklington Canal boats? We had a nice birthday party in the summer, it was really lovely. Ciao. A.

Good to see you back. Make room on that houseboat for me. All the best for 2009 and hope to see you posting again. I love York architecture.

Happy New Year, good to see you back! I thought of you as I saw in the New Year standing outside York Minster with a few friends and several thousand drunk people!
